I also tie a wet, slightly weighted version of this fly (no JC eye) that can be very effective. I was on the North Branch of the Ausable last night and started with an emerger pattern. After no action and no rises in site, I soon switched to my version of the wet Hornberg. First cast, Bam! 8-9 inch Brookie. Two others to follow shortly there after. Very effective with a short retrieve. I was casting down an across....letting it swing into the bumble line. I won't be without it.
