    Default A quick greeting

Hello everyone. I know I haven't been on the board for several years; but I have lurked every so often.
In January, 2013, my beloved wife went for an annual checkup and the family doctor diagnosed adult onset type 2 diabetes from her blood results. Skipping forward seven months it was actually an indicator of pancreatic cancer just beginning. Through a series of tests it had grown to an inoperable condition. However, the surgeon suggested chemo therapy in a attempt to shrink the tumor for the possibility of surgery. No success after six months of chemo.
She passed at home in my arms on 6/27/14.

I have had no urge to fly fish or do anything since. Maybe one day.

On February 9th. I had the left carotid artery replaced (99.6% blocked) and this Thursday (March 3rd.) I will have triple heart bypass.

I read the post on Jack Hise and can empathize. I guess if you live long enough you have to go into the shop for an oil change and tire rotation!!!!

My kindest regards to everyone on the site. It has been a family to me since I joined in July of 2001. And, a world
    of knowledge and learning.

    Jim

    Jim,
please accept my condolences. I've been through the cancer journey with my wife. Hope you can find comfort in the beauty that the stream brings sometime soon again.
    Best,

My prayers go out for you sir! Some time on the water may very well aid in the healing process! Checking in here will no doubt lift your spirit too!

Jim, Welcome back. My condolences for your loss. I will pray for you and hope the "fishing gods" stimulate your need once again to be on the stream/lake with stick in hand !

Jim, Thanks for the post and update. I pray the oil change and tire rotation works good for you. It's still hard for me to discuss my daughter who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer May 29, 2014. Hope to see you on this board from time to time. Healing takes friends. Jim

Jim ... I was so excited to see your name once again!! I'm so sorry for the loss of your wonderful bride. I pray that all will go well this week in your upcoming surgery. May God be with you and your surgeon. Please, when you are feeling stronger after your surgery, let us know you are well. In time, that feel for the fly fishing may return. I echo Jims' feelings that healing takes friends ... and we're right here. Love and prayers, Betty
Trouts don't live in ugly places.

A friend is not who knows you the longest, but the one who came and never left your side.

Don't look back, we ain't goin' that way.

    Prayers offered.
Separate your observations from your preconceptions. See what is, not what you expect.
