Yes, I was reading the Fly-In and kids in Sound Off. I'm very impressed how many adults are willing to step forward and be a mentor for an hour or two. I came along on some trips with my father and his friends. They were some of the best memories. All the adults were kind and willing to pass along a few tips. Not one "off-color" joke, nor was I exposed to smoking (although I know they waited until I went to bed). There was lots of soda, and I recall a bottle of wine with dinner (Steak and fish!).

I'm sure FAOL would have excellent standards, but taking the kids out of school for a week in the fall and another in the spring (most likely) is probably something more than we're comfortable with. However, I wouldn't hesitate if it was closer. Missing 2 days of school is better than five.
