Yep, the Crackleback is hot in all the Missouri parks but I wouldn't call it a nymph. It's usually fished dry or stripped on a sink-tip line.

I'm from Missouri too and have fished Roaring River a few times but have never heard of a fly by that name. You might try Tim's Flyshop which is the main fly shop in that area.

Thanks again.
Fritz, Thanks for the link. It says they weigh 4 pounds. That surely isn't right. Is it really fairly light? The clear net ones were kind of heavy for my liking.
one problem may be the fact that some virus/malware programs block it saying it is not safe. I use Malwarebytes and for two or three weeks I was getting that message and then it suddenly quit saying...
Thanks Byron. I thought it looked like antron but that name threw me.
Fritz, do you have a link to where you can order one? I've also been looking for one of those. Cabela's used to sell them but apparently quit after Bass Pro bought them.
Just saw this Byron. Nice looking fly but one question-what is dazzlewire? I've never heard of it.
A fantastic job. Thanks for doing it. I'll second Norm's idea of putting it on an Excel spread sheet.
The husband leans over and asks his wife, "Do you remember the first time we had sex together over fifty years ago? We went behind the village tavern where you leaned against the back fence and I...
Is anyone else having problems staying logged in? Every time I come back I have to re-login. It just started doing that a couple of weeks ago.
Darn, hated reading that as I had Tilapia for supper last night. But, on the bright side, I think what I had came from Bangladesh. Probably from some crystal clear spring fed creek!
The Salt river is almost always muddy as it drains so much plowed land. The lake always had a mud problem too although it tended to clear up considerably in dry weather. I was mostly a bass...
They don't stock Lakeview-it's too big and kind of difficult to get to the water's edge in a lot of places. They stock Kiwanis Park lake on Hendricks street. Unfortunately it has a lot of moss...
Yea, a kind of brassie coachman.
David, looks like you had some nice outings. How many lakes in the St. Louis area did they stock?
I live in Mexico,Mo and they stock one city park lake here. Fortunately the lake is only about 500...
Byron,
Gary gave a seminar one time years ago at Bennett Spring. A very interesting guy.
He later did a humorous story about Bennett in his newsletter. He said-There was a guy who fished...
Looks like the Lamborghini of vises.
Byron,
Hope the hurricane missed you or at least wasn't too damaging.

There are quite a few good fishing books available for free today.

Those look darn good, but I would suggest you use a longer hook to allow for a better hook set.
That's a great find. Putting it on a lazy susan turret is a good idea. You might want to also add some natural cedar to the bottom of the drawers you put feathers in. Some places sell thin cedar...
Doesn't selecting it automatically open it?
How do you safely delete a message without opening it?
I wonder if before you put on the hackle if one could coat the foam with something like SHHAN, UV Resin or ? to make it shiny like an ant body appears?
